Shantane Tho.
The Richmond Symphony has appointed Shantane Tho as chief financial officer. She will oversee the orchestra’s financial operations, human resources, and administrative functions. Most recently, Tho served as chief financial administrative officer for the Virginia League of Conservation Voters, where she led finance, HR, and development operations as part of the executive team. She worked to strengthen financial stewardship, advance equity across organizational frameworks, and position the nonprofit for long-term sustainability and growth. Tho has more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience and has guided organizations through growth and transition by integrating finance, operations, and HR to build resilient and inclusive teams. A Virginia native, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional. Tho serves on the board of Reach Out Center 2.0 and participates in the 2025–2026 Metro Richmond Leadership Quest program.
