A segment on Wednesday’s (4/23) WTOV 9 (Ohio) reports, “The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra is set to debut its new season, titled ‘The Place I Belong,’ offering a blend of new experiences alongside familiar favorites. The season will feature four Masterworks and three Pops performances, in addition to its renowned community concerts and special events. Each of the masterworks will echo the theme of ‘Country Roads,’ with titles inspired by lyrics from the iconic West Virginia song. A rendition of ‘Star Wars’ is also scheduled to take center stage. ‘Opening night (of the Pops Series) will be on September 20th and will be a Prohibition party,’ said John Devlin, the conductor of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. ‘So the Capitol [Theatre] is going to turn into a speakeasy, and we will celebrate the music with these three phenomenal guest artists from the Roaring 20s and you can experience a little of the era right here in Wheeling.’ ” The article lists full programming for the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s 2025-26 Masterworks and Pops series.
