The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra has announced that PIETARI INKINEN, music director since 2007, will assume the title of NZSO Honorary Conductor in 2016. Inkinen, 35, is currently in his sixth season as principal guest conductor of the Japan Philharmonic, and next season will become chief conductor of the Prague Symphony Orchestra and of Germany’s Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele. A native of Finland, he trained in violin at the Hochschule für Musik Köln and earned diplomas in both violin and conducting at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
