North Carolina’s Winston-Salem Symphony has announced that STEPHEN MULLIGAN will step down from his various staff posts at the orchestra on May 31 to focus on “the increasing amount of work he is being offered outside of Winston-Salem.” In addition to serving as assistant conductor, Mulligan leads the Winston-Salem Youth Symphony and is general manager of the WSS’s Youth Orchestras Program. He is a graduate of Yale University and the Peabody School of Music, and studied in 2015 at Aspen Music Festival and School’s American Academy of Conducting. The Winston-Salem Symphony will announce search plans for a new assistant conductor shortly.
