Lawrence Fried, executive director of the Albany (N.Y.) Symphony Orchestra has announced three administrative appointments: DEREK SMITH, education coordinator and grants administrator; JUSTIN COOK, patron services and box office manager; and RACHEL JASON, marketing and development associate.
Derek Smith, formerly the orchestra’s part-time operations assistant, holds a master’s degree in composition from the State University of New York at Fredonia and a bachelor’s in composition from the State University of New York at Albany.
Justin Cook has worked as campaign assistant at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Albany; program development specialist at Hamilton Hill Arts (Schenectady, N.Y.); and development and alumni relations assistant at American Boychoir School in Princeton, N.J. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Westminster Choir College in Princeton.
Rachel Jason was formerly associate gifts officer at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis., from which she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree.
