ROBBI KEARNS has been named director of artistic operations at the New York Youth Symphony. For the past four years he has worked with Elisa Wagner/International Creative Production, producing concerts and tours for such artists as José Carreras, Dmitri Hvorostovsky with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra & Academy Choir, and Rolando Villazón with the Bolivar Soloists. Kearns has also worked with composer Howard Shore on soundtracks for “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” and “Avatar,” and he oversaw the creation of “The Lord of the Rings Symphony.” He toured worldwide managing more than 100 performances of that symphony by local orchestras and choirs, and ultimately took over management and production of the project at CAMI Music, a division of Columbia Artists Management Inc.
