The Juilliard School has announced two additions to its violin faculty beginning in Fall 2014: LI LIN and LAURIE SMUKLER.

Li Lin is a faculty member at San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the Preparatory Division, and has served as a guest clinician and masterclass artist at music schools and festivals in North America, Europe, and China. A native of Guang Zhou, China, he received his advanced violin training at SFCM and the Eastman School of Music. At Juilliard he will be teaching in both the Pre-College and College divisions.

Laurie Smukler is professor of violin and chamber music at Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College The New School for Music, and Bard College Conservatory of Music. Since 1997 she has also served on the faculty at Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival and School (Blue Hill, Me.). Smukler has performed as recitalist in major cities across the U.S., and was the founding first violinist of the Mendelssohn String Quartet.
