The Richmond (Va.) Symphony has announced the renewal of ERIN R. FREEMAN’s contract as associate conductor of the orchestra and director of the Richmond Symphony Chorus through 2012-13. She has held these posts since the start of the 2007-08 season. Freeman’s previous positions include director of orchestras at Baltimore School for the Arts; conductor of Northwestern University’s National High School Music Institute; music director of the Richmond Philharmonic; resident conductor at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University; and music director of Collegium Vocale, based at Emory University in Atlanta. She holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Northwestern, a master’s in conducting from Boston University School for the Arts, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in orchestral conducting from Peabody Conservatory.
