WILLIAM “BILL” HESS has been elected president of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Trustees, succeeding HUGH W. LONG, who has been elected a life trustee following fifteen years of service as president. Hess has worked in video production and post-production in New Orleans for more than 20 years, and has served on the LPO board since 2000. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from New York University. Long is a professor of global health systems and development at Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, a consultant to the American College of Physician Executives, and a board member of the League of American Orchestras and of the New Orleans hospital system LCMC, Inc. A graduate of Ohio State University, Long holds MBA and PhD degrees in business administration and finance from Stanford University and a JD degree from Tulane University.
