On April 7, South Carolina’s Charleston Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert of contemporary works at the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul on the College of Charleston campus. The program is part of Magnetic South, a collaborative project between the CSO and the College of Charleston’s music department that features classical music performances. College of Charleston faculty member Yiorgos Vassilandonakis and CSO Music Director Ken Lam will conduct the concert, which will feature Mario Davidovsky’s Festino Notturno, Kurt Rohde’s As We Do, An Etude for Mixed Ensemble, and John Allemeier’s Deep Water. Also on the program will be Sift by Connor Elias Way, the winning piece from a call for scores from the college’s music department.
