In Monday’s (1/22) Myfox28columbus.com, an unsigned article reports, “An ensemble featuring six members of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra will perform live during the Prevagen Skating Spectacular on Sunday, Jan. 28 at Nationwide Arena. The ensemble will accompany figure skater Jason Brown with excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s ‘Souvenir de Florence’ during the Skating Spectacular at 7:30 p.m. Brown’s routine will help conclude the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, held in Columbus for the first time. CSO members and a vocalist will perform the National Anthem on the final day of the championships. Arthur Marks will sing the National Anthem, accompanied by Concertmaster and violinist Joanna Frankel, violinist Alicia Hui, viola players Karl Pedersen and Ken Matsuda, and cellists Wendy Morton and Pei-An Chao … ‘We are thrilled to be a part of such an historic event for Columbus,’ said Daniel Walshaw, CSO chief operating officer. ‘Thanks to the Greater Columbus Sports Commission, United States Figure Skating, and Jason Brown for entrusting us with performing live music for his free skate.
