“David Danzmayr, music director of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, has also been named artistic adviser and conductor of the Breckenridge (Colo.) Music Festival,” states an unsigned article in Tuesday’s (12/16) Columbus Dispatch (Ohio). “He succeeds conductor emeritus Gerhardt Zimmermann, who led the orchestra for the past two decades. Danzmayr will conduct the first two weeks of the five-week summer festival, to run July 12 to Aug. 15. He is working with festival organizers to plan the repertoire. Meanwhile, Vadim Gluzman, creative partner and principal guest artist of ProMusica, was recently included as one of the world’s top 30 virtuoso violinists in Jean-Michel Molkhou’s new book, Great Violinists of the Twentieth Century: Volume 2. The compilation features virtuoso violinists born between 1948 and 1985—including Joshua Bell, Pinchas Zukerman, Hilary Hahn and Midori.”
