Over the past twelve years, the Orchestras Feeding America food drive of the League of American Orchestras has seen over 370 orchestras across the country collect and donate more than 530,000 pounds of food. The efforts of these orchestras have helped spread the word about how and why orchestras are so valuable to their communities, beyond providing amazing music. The League of American Orchestras invites orchestras to join the food drive to help those in need and assist in ongoing efforts to combat food insecurity in the U.S. How to take part? Sign up to add your orchestra to the list of 2020 participants and to receive free materials to help promote your drive, including guidelines, a list of most-needed food items, hunger facts, and flyers to spread the word about your drive. If your orchestra has already conducted a food drive over the past holiday season, be sure to add your food pounds to the national total.
