Erik Finley has been appointed vice president of artistic planning at the Minnesota Orchestra, effective on January 30, 2023. Finley is currently vice president and general manager of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, which he joined in 2017. He previously led artistic planning at the Fort Worth Symphony and Florida Orchestra, and began his career working with conductor Marin Alsop in the artistic department of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. An advocate of composers and music of our time, he held a seven-year affiliation with the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. Finley studied horn at Rice University, the Royal College of Music in London, the Music Academy of the West, and the National Repertory Orchestra. He is a graduate of Boston University and the Interlochen Arts Academy, and an MBA candidate at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Read his full bio.
