The Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra in Texas has produced a video commemorating its 70th anniversary and posted the video online. The Legacy of the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra video, featuring archival footage, still images, and personal statements from members of the community, was also shown at the orchestra’s season-opening concert on October 14. The Wichita Falls Symphony League contributed to the project through its archive of newspaper clippings and photographs, and their newsletter. Throughout the 2017-18 season, WFSO is inviting orchestra-goers to record and share one or more brief videos about the orchestra as part of what it calls “Archiving the Past, Articulating the Future.” Some of the videos will be posted in a publicly accessible online historical archive on the orchestra’s webpage, and Wichita Falls Symphony fans also may post videos on the WFSO’s Facebook page during the season.
