An unsigned article in Tuesday’s (11/5) Hunterdon County Democrat (New Jersey) announces a new partnership for the 2013-14 season between the Princeton Symphony Orchestra and The College of New Jersey. Three concerts are planned for this season at the Mayo Concert Hall Music Building located on TCNJ’s Ewing campus, with pre- and post-performance receptions and audience talk-backs with the performers.  “Dean John Laughton [of The College of New Jersey] comments, ‘We are thrilled to join with Princeton Symphony Orchestra as we at the College of New Jersey expand our mission of community engagement and education.’ … PSO Executive Director Melanie Clarke … said, ‘Rossen Milanov, PSO’s music director, joins me to say how excited and honored we are…. We are delighted to have the opportunity to extend PSO’s geographic reach to Ewing, Lawrenceville and Bucks County and to be present on a campus known for its highly motivated and curious students. Mayo Hall is a gem—stately and intimate, each seat having unusual proximity to the stage.’ ” Programs will include music by Debussy, De Victoria, Britten, and Berlioz; among the guest performers will be the vocal octet Roomful of Teeth in a program featuring Caroline Shaw’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Partita.
