The Sphinx Organization has opened applications for its 2020 Sphinx Tank Grants, in which four emerging arts and cultural entrepreneurs of color will “pitch” their projects to a panel of industry leaders before a live audience. The panel will evaluate the projects based on core entrepreneurship metrics and will award a $25,000 Sphinx Tank Grant to the entrepreneur demonstrating the highest level of excellence. In addition, the audience will select an entrepreneur to receive an audience choice grant of $10,000. Applications are due by October 15, 2019, and selected applicants will propose their projects on the evening of February 7 at the 2020 SphinxConnect conference, which takes place February 6-8 in Detroit, Michigan. The panel will be hosted by Sphinx founder Aaron Dworkin, with additional panelists to be announced. The Sphinx Organization is a social justice organization dedicated to transforming lives through the power of diversity in the arts, with a particular focus on classical music. Apply here.
