Women’s Philharmonic Advocacy is now accepting applications for 2023 WPA Performance Grants from U.S.-based community, professional, and youth orchestras. Music organizations that have demonstrated a commitment toward diversity, inclusion, and representation are encouraged to apply, as are groups that seek to expand their repertoire, attract wider audiences, include engaging educational programming, and wish to be positive models of change in the classical music world. Ensembles will receive a total of $5,000 over three years (the 2024-25 through 2026-27 concert seasons) to support actions that expand programming, engage new audiences, and demonstrate the diverse history and future of classical music. Women’s Philharmonic Advocacy (WPA) is a non-profit organization that, since 2008, has demanded equity for women composers and celebrated the legacy of The Women’s Philharmonic (1980-2004). The deadline to submit applications is November 3, 2023. Find out more about the Performance Grants at www.wophil.org/grants.
