Los Angeles Philharmonic Association President and Chief Executive Officer Deborah Borda has announced the appointment of KATHLEEN KANE as vice president of philanthropy, effective in mid-June. She served most recently as chief philanthropy and external relations officer at City of Hope, a southern California-based nonprofit clinical research center, hospital, and medical school. Prior to joining that organization in 2004, Kane held senior development positions at the University of California, San Francisco, including vice president, UCSF Foundation, and associate vice chancellor, university development and alumni relations. A native of California, Kane holds a JD degree from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology from Whittier College. She chairs the development leadership committee of the Association of American Medical Colleges and serves on the Board of Trustees of Whittier College.
