Brass musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform three free chamber music concerts on Monday nights in September as an expansion of the orchestra’s Music for the Spirit series of concerts exploring the connection between music and spirituality. Concerts will take place at local churches in three neighborhoods: the North Side (Allegheny Center Alliance Church, September 8), East Liberty (East Liberty Presbyterian Church, September 15), and Wilkinsburg (Deliverance Baptist Church, September 22). The September dates were added to the PSO’s already planned Music for the Spirits concerts at Westminster Presbyterian in Upper St. Clair and Cardinal Wuerl High School, both set for November. Concerts include music, poetry, readings, and other spoken-word elements; repertoire for the programs will be announced later. Seats are on a first come, first served basis. The Music for the Spirit Program is curated and arranged by Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra musicians.
