Following a storm that blanketed parts of western New York with more than five feet of snow, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra has cancelled its November 21 performance of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring at the Center for the Arts at the University of Buffalo. The orchestra hopes to reschedule the performance, featuring the orchestra and members of the Richmond Ballet, in 2015. “Due to the ongoing and unprecedented winter storm impacting much of western New York, and our concerns for the safety of the performers and audience, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this performance,” said Thomas Burrows, executive director of the University of Buffalo Center for the Arts. Ticket-holders may retain their tickets for the new date, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend on the rescheduled date.
