With a monthlong program called “Christmas in the Community,” the Austin Symphony in Texas is bringing holiday music to area residents through a series of concerts featuring string, woodwind, and brass ensembles from the orchestra. “Christmas in the Community” is sponsored by Macy’s, and the venues include three Macy’s stores as well as the Mexican American Cultural Center, the Asian American Resource Center, City Hall, the George Washington Carver Museum, the State Capitol building, and several recreation centers. The program began on November 22 with a woodwind quintet performance at Macy’s at the Domain, and concludes on December 22 with a string quartet performance at the State Capitol. More information about the holiday concerts is available here.
