A report Wednesday (7/29) on the news site Connecticut Plus states, “The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra recently announced newly elected officials to its executive committee, including Westport resident Kenneth Olson as President. Entering into its 70th year of performances and with new leadership in place, the orchestra is excited to move forward in a positive and new direction for the upcoming concert season. … Others named to the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Governance include: Irene Dixon as Vice President and Nominating Committee Chair; Catherine Newman as Secretary and Governance Committee Chair; and Russell Cooper as Treasurer. … The Orchestra will kick off its 70th season on Saturday, October 17th as violin prodigy Stefan Jackiw joins the NSO for a program concert of popular works including Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1.”
