under Music Director Kevin McMahon. Highlights include an October performance of J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins, featuring McMahon and Concertmaster Debbie Williamson, who will be retiring after 34 years with the orchestra. Also on the October program will be the Piano Concerto No. 1 by Keith Emerson (of the prog-rock group Emerson Lake and Palmer), with pianist Jeffrey Biegel as soloist. Principal Trombone Jason Sebranek will be featured in February in the rarely performed Trombone Concerto by Gordon Jacob, on a program that also includes Beethoven’s Third Symphony (“Eroica”) and the Overture to Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.  Throughout the season, the audience will be invited to vote to select the program for a People’s Choice concert during the 2016-17 season. Also scheduled for the 2015-16 season are Sibelius’s tone poem The Swan of Tuonela and Symphony No. 7; Liszt’s Les Preludes; a pops program featuring music by Gershwin, Porter, Bernstein, Sondheim, and Lloyd Webber; a concert of opera choruses. There will be a holiday program featuring Respighi’s Laud to the Nativity and Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Shegboygan Symphony Chorus; the same concert will include a screening of the movie The Snowman. Concerts take place at the Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan.
