ALISON JOHNSTON has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer at the Phoenix Symphony. She was formerly chief operating officer at Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center (Scottsdale, Ariz.), and before that served as executive director of Ballet Arizona in Phoenix. Prior to her time in Arizona, Johnston spent twelve years in executive roles with Citigroup Latin America and the Caribbean.
