“The Cleveland Orchestra and music director Franz Welser-Möst have appointed their next artistic administrator,” writes Zachary Lewis in The Plain Dealer (Cleveland) on Friday (12/4). “The orchestra has hired Ilya Gidalevich to aid Welser-Möst in the conception and execution of programs at Severance Hall, Blossom Music Center, Miami, and elsewhere. Gidalevich takes up his new role in January, leaving behind Opus 3 Artists, where he has worked since 2009, most recently as manager of artists and attractions. In that capacity, he managed the North American tours of international orchestras and chamber groups and oversaw the management of numerous conductors and instrumentalists. Before joining Opus 3, Gidalevich, a native of Ukraine raised in Atlanta, worked for the Chautauqua Institution and Goldman Sachs. He holds a degree from Yale University with majors in music and political science.”
