Florida’s Jacksonville Symphony is reporting an increase in ticket sales of 9 percent during the 2015-2016 season versus the previous season, as well as a 6 percent increase in contributed income. The orchestra recorded an increase in the number of donor households to 2,143, up from 1,397 in 2014-15. Fifty percent of renewed donors increased their annual fund gifts, and proceeds from “Rock the Glockenspiel,” the orchestra’s first crowd-funding event, went toward the purchase of a new percussion instrument. Courtney Lewis is the Jacksonville Symphony’s music director, and Robert Massey is president and CEO.
