The University of Missouri School of Music (Columbia, Mo.) has appointed composer JACOB GOTLIB managing director of the Mizzou New Music Initiative, effective August 15. He will oversee the Mizzou International Composers Festival, the Creating Original Music Project, and the Missouri Composers Orchestra Project. Gotlib has composed for such groups as Ensemble Linea, Crossfire Percussion Duo, Schlagquartett Köln, and Slagwek Den Haag. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music technology from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a master’s in composition from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a Ph.D in composition from the State University of New York-Buffalo.
