“The London classical ensemble known as #WePlayOn is looking for a brand new brand while performing three pre-Christmas concerts under its current banner,” writes James Reaney in Monday’s (10/3) London Free Press (London, Ontario). “When the old Orchestra London’s finances collapsed, its musicians continued to play on in large and small groups. After several variations, the musicians settled on #WePlayOn as a temporary name…. ‘#WePlayOn is in the process of naming, branding and launching a new musical ensemble in London,’ the group says… ‘Through focus groups and online input, we hope to include all who are interested in contributing to the process.’ The ensemble announced ticket prices and other details… ‘We have tried to keep tickets affordable by setting a 3-concert package at $99,’ a representative said. It is also possible to join in the re-branding process” by sending an email to wpoconsult@gmail.com. “#WePlayOn also announced details about three pre-Christmas concerts” on November 11, December 2, and December 7, the latter “at First-St. Andrew’s United Church for Handel’s Messiah with Kevin Mallon conducting.”
