“The glorious sounds of Bach and Vivaldi will fill the Gaslight Music Hall in Oro Valley on Sunday, Oct. 16,” writes Cathalena Burch in Thursday’s (10/13) Arizona Daily Star (Tucson). “The fledgling music hall that is starting to make a reputation for itself as the go-to venue for blues, classic rock and pop music performed by some of Tucson’s standout musicians is floating a new balloon: classical music. And as it does with its pop, rock and blues shows, it’s bringing in some world-class musicians moonlighting from the Tucson Symphony Orchestra for the inaugural classical concert, ‘Bach in the Saddle.’ Performers include TSO violinist Michael Fan, principal flutist Alexander Lipay, percussionist Homero Ceron, bassist James Karrer and tuba player David Morgan. A brass quintet featuring trumpet players Jason Carder and Betsy Bright, horn player Victor Valenzuela, trombonist Joey Munoz and David Morgan on tuba, and pianist Leeza Beryeva also are expected to perform. The program includes works by Bach, Vivaldi, Paganini, Chopin, Schubert, Piazzolla and Copland.” Gaslight Music Hall opened in February at the Rancho Vistoso Center in Oro Valley, Arizona. During the day, the space is a pizza restaurant, and in the evenings it offers entertainment.
