Soli Deo Gloria Inc., an Illinois-based organization dedicated to enhancing, promoting, and preserving classical sacred music repertoire in the Biblical tradition, has announced the appointment of composer PETER BANNISTER as associate artistic director. Bannister’s orchestral, choral, chamber, and solo vocal works have been heard in concert in Europe and North America, as well as in broadcasts on American and Italian public radio. A native of London now residing in Paris, he holds an M. Phil degree in musicology from King’s College, Cambridge. At SDG he will work closely with Artistic Director John Nelson to oversee the organization’s program activity, including commissioning, repeat performances, and recordings of contemporary music.
