“If you think Milktooth [restaurant] chef Jonathan Brooks is a culinary maestro, you’re going to love his latest performance with members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra,” writes Liz Biro in Sunday’s (10/8) Indianapolis Star. “Brooks shakes pans and spins utensils as an ISO string quartet fires Dmitriyevich Shostakovich’s wild String Quartet No. 8 through the Milktooth dining room. The video going nuts on Facebook was made by 12 Stars Media in Indianapolis. Producer Rocky Walls and his team got the idea from seeing a scotch whiskey video that incorporated performing arts. Brooks seamlessly creates a dish while cellist Austin Huntington and violinists Sherry Hong, Amy Kniffen and Patrick Dalton-Holmes stay intensely focused on their music. That wasn’t easy. Brooks was really preparing food while the quartet played. ‘So you could smell it and see it,’ Walls said…. Walls and team created the video to promote Indy’s budding dining scene and the ISO’s musicians, performances and efforts to reach a wider audience. ‘Some things you see online are just so blatant,’ Walls said. ‘We wanted people actually after they watched to have a little bit of a sense of “Hmm, I’m not even really sure why I love this but I do.” ’ ”
