While in Grand Rapids, he was the orchestra personnel manager in addition to his playing duties from 2004 to 2008. Clapp has performed with the New York City Ballet Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, CityMusic Cleveland, the Harrisburg Symphony, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. He served as artist faculty in bassoon at Grand Valley State University for ten years. A native of Philadelphia, he earned a bachelor of music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and a master’s of music from the Juilliard School.
