California’s Santa Barbara Symphony has announced a three-year contract extension for NIR KABARETTI as music director. He was appointed the orchestra’s music director in 2006. Kabaretti has served as music director of the Southwest Florida Symphony in Fort Myers, Florida since 2014, and next season he will become musical director of the Israel Sinfonietta Beer-Sheva, succeeding Justus Frantz. Kabaretti appears regularly as guest conductor of numerous American and international orchestras. He will conclude his music directorship of the Santa Barbara Symphony at the end of this three-year contract extension, and the orchestra has initiated a music director search.
