“The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra announced the appointment of Maureen Conlon-Gutierrez as concertmaster,” reads an unsigned Sunday (7/22) article in the Daily American (Somerset, PA). “Conlon-Gutierrez has appeared as soloist with various orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout Mexico, Europe, and the U.S. … In 2005 she was a semifinalist at the Sphinx Competition.… She co-founded the Trio Nova Mundi with whom she performed from 2001-2017 … in Latin America, Africa and the U.S. … Conlon-Gutierrez served as concertmaster with the Erie Chamber Orchestra, guest concertmaster of the Erie Philharmonic and the Sphinx Symphony, and is currently a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra and Wheeling Symphony.
