The Rockford (Ill.) Symphony Orchestra has appointed JULIE SCHAPER executive director. Schaper has been a member of the RSO staff since December 2004, when she was named marketing and development director, and she will retain development responsibilities as part of her new post. Prior to joining the RSO she worked for nine years in marketing and promotions with Famous-Barr, a division of the May Department Stores Company. A native of the St. Louis area, Schaper holds a bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism, with a minor in applied music, from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. She is a board member of the Rockford Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
