And May the Fourth be with you,” writes Jen Banowetz in Thursday’s (4/25) Naperville Sun (IL). “The DuPage Symphony Orchestra is taking full advantage of this catchy cinematic pun … May 4 [with] ‘something really fun—movie music,’ said Teresa Muir, secretary of the orchestra’s board of directors. ‘Suitable for the entire family, we feature music from Star Wars, Robin Hood and a collection with 40 years of cinema gems … When Maestra (Barbara) Schubert announced the dates of our subscription concert series, a member of the DSO Board immediately thought “May the Fourth Be with You!” and we knew programming should include music from Star Wars,’ Muir said…. The program also features The Big Movie Suite by Jeff Tyzik, showcasing themes from Gone With the Wind, Ben Hur, Dr. Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia and more. The orchestra also will perform a suite of excerpts from Erich Korngold’s The Adventures of Robin Hood score…. Chances are, you may spot a few Jedi, Stormtroopers and Wookiees enjoying an evening at the symphony. ‘Audience members are welcome to come dressed as favorite Star Wars characters, but regular concert attire is OK too,’ Muir said.”
