Symphoria, an orchestra based in Syracuse, New York, has hired PAMELA MURCHISON as executive director. Murchison previously held dual roles as a musician and vice president of development with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO). She begins at Symphoria in June. During her four years as vice president of development with the WVSO, Murchison increased individual giving by 37 percent and maintained a corporate sponsorship program. In addition to overseeing grant and foundation funders, she and the WVSO team increased the orchestra’s endowment by 40 percent. Murchison has a doctor of arts degree from West Virginia University, a master of music degree from Youngstown State University, and a bachelor of music from Duquesne University.
