South Carolina’s Greenville Symphony will perform a program entitled “Women of Music” on October 26, featuring the orchestra’s principal musicians performing works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Caroline Shaw, Andrea Clearfield, Amy Beach, and Ana Sokolovic. The concert will include Mendelssohn’s String Quartet, Shaw’s Entr’acte—String Quartet, Clearfield’s Three Songs for Oboe and Double Bass after Poems of Pablo Neruda, Beach’s Pastorale for Woodwind Quintet, and Sokolovic’s Cinq locomotives et quelques animaux. The concert is the first of the orchestra’s three-concert 2019-20 Spotlight Series of chamber music performances at the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Greenville.
