The performing arts presenter Celebrity Series of Boston has appointed EMILY BORABABY as chief advancement officer. Borababy is currently the director of development and external relations for From The Top, Inc., where she leads the organization’s fundraising as well as board and external relations. From the Top is known for its long-running National Public Radio broadcast of the same name, which spotlights young classically trained musicians. The organization also offers live events, scholarships, and arts education for young classical musicians. Borababy was previously executive director of the American Red Cross of South Florida and executive director of the Florida Southern Gulf Chapter. She served as a spokesperson for the Red Cross during Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, working with local and national media as well as elected officials. She was senior director of major gifts for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, director of individual giving for the Florida Grand Opera, and manager of development communications for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Borababy graduated from the Boston University College of Fine Arts with a bachelor of music in vocal performance. She is a board member of Nu-Deco Ensemble, the Miami-based orchestra founded in 2015 by Jacomo Bairos and Sam Hyken.
