Boosey & Hawkes Inc. in New York City has announced the appointment of DAVID SCHOTZKO as director, promotion, and STEVEN LANKENAU as associate director, promotion. Schotzko, a native of northern Minnesota, holds degrees from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Yale University, and joined the Boosey & Hawkes Promotion Department in 2006. He is founding percussionist of the contemporary-music ensemble ICE, and was its program director from 2004 to 2007. Lankenau served for three years (2006-09) at the Brooklyn Philharmonic, first as manager of community programming and subsequently as director of programming. From 2003 to 2006 he worked in the Programming Department at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. He holds a master’s degree in music composition from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he also taught music theory and history.
