HUNTER SCOTT SAFRIT has been promoted from associate executive director of North Carolina’s  Salisbury Symphony to the post of executive director, effective July 1, 2020. He will succeed Executive Director Bill Bucher Jr., who announced plans last November to retire from the symphony as of June 30, 2020. Safrit has been associated with the Salisbury Symphony for more than seven years, first as a student intern from Catawba College, later as a paid assistant, and most recently serving as associate executive director since last Fall. Safrit earned a bachelor’s degree in music education in 2016 and is currently a candidate for an MBA from Appalachian State University in North Carolina in 2021. Safrit is a 2019 alumnus of the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management seminar.
