Due to the pandemic, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra’s previously scheduled live concerts through December 6, 2020 will be replaced with virtual and small-format/limited-capacity live outdoor performances. The orchestra plans to gradually phase in music with live, indoor audiences as local conditions safely allow. The first of four “CSO On Demand” concerts will take place on October 23 as a live-streamed event, with Music Director Christopher Warren-Green conducting a strings-only concert of Grieg’s Holberg Suite and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings; Resident Conductor Christopher James Lee will share stories behind the music. Concerts will be available on demand for one week following the premiere. The orchestra will perform six in-person “ON TAP” concerts at NoDa Brewing Company’s beer garden; concerts will also be live-streamed. Concerts in the series feature chamber groups of musicians in a wide range of music. Serving as hosts for “ON TAP” concerts will be Warren-Green (Oct. 27) and Lees (Sept. 29, Oct. 20, Nov. 17), as well as CSO General Manager John Clapp (Oct. 6) and President and CEO David Fisk (Nov. 10).
