This fall, the Auburn Symphony Orchestra in Washington State is presenting free streams of concerts featuring solo and group performances by musicians from the orchestra, which include solo performances recorded at home, recently recorded chamber music, and archived full-orchestra concerts. A streamed performance beginning on November 5 features Principal Trumpet Sarah Viens in a program including Oskar Boehme’s Grazioso and Pierre Clodomir’s Allegretto. The orchestra’s 2019 performance of Adam Schoenberg’s Picture Studies—a 28-minute work for orchestra based on four paintings, three photographs, and one sculpture—will be featured in a November 12 stream. The Auburn Symphony String Quartet’s performance of music by Emilie Mayer and Ludwig van Beethoven, filmed recently in Salish Hall at Green River College in Auburn, will be streamed beginning on November 19. Concerts are streamed at the Auburn Symphony’s website.
