The New York City-based American Composers Orchestra (ACO) has named JESSE ROSEN as interim president. He will serve as ACO’s interim president while Acting President and Director of Development Lyndsay Werking completes her maternity leave. Rosen stepped down as president and CEO of the League of American Orchestras in September, following a distinguished twelve-year tenure, and now serves as senior advisor to the League. Rosen is a longtime ACO board member and was the organization’s executive director from 1987 to 1996. In addition to the ACO’s board, Rosen is on the board of the Gateways Music Festival, was on the board of the Performing Arts Alliance, and was a member of the National Center for Arts Research Board of Advisors. He is a lifelong musician and experienced orchestra executive who previously served as general manager of the Seattle Symphony and orchestra manager of the New York Philharmonic. A trombonist, Rosen received a bachelor’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music and pursued graduate studies at the Juilliard School.
