“John Kieser has been enlisted by the classical music streaming service Idagio as its ‘director of partnerships,’ which will help open industry doors for the company and expand its reach beyond the 30,000 registered users it currently claims,” writes Susan Elliott in Thursday’s (2/18) Musical America (subscription required). “The Berlin-based service boasts 2.3 million app downloads and subscribers in over 150 countries. Working out of both Berlin and Miami, Kieser will maintain his current connection with the New World Symphony, but lighten his load by moving from executive VP and provost to executive producer of media, which has long been Kieser’s strong suit. The idea is for him to be a part of Idagio senior management and create platforms for performing arts groups to connect with and expand their audiences. Prior to his five years with New World, Kieser was general manager of the San Francisco Symphony, where he created SFS Media, which housed the Keeping Score project, a number of Grammy winning recordings, and Emmy Awards for The San Francisco Symphony at 100 and Sweeney Todd productions.”
