On March 6, Wisconsin’s the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra will perform two chamber-sized strings concerts—a matinee concert and an evening concert—at the 1,100-seat Viterbo Fine Arts Center before an audience of 250 people. The socially distanced concerts, representing the largest in-person event for the orchestra in a year, will also be live-streamed on YouTube, where it will remain accessible after the concert. LSO Concertmaster Wes Luke, Assistant Concertmaster Aaron Schwartz, and guest pianist Christopher Atzinger will perform the third movement of Beethoven’s String Quartet in F (Op. 135), J.S. Bach’s Double Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, and Bloch’s Concerto Grosso No. 1 for String Orchestra and Piano. Masks are required for audience members, and there will be no pre-events, post-events, or intermissions.
