On June 16 from 3:40-6 p.m. EDT, the opening session of the League of American Orchestras’ 65th National Conference will be streamed live at the orchestrarevolution blogsite. To watch, go to http://orchestrarevolution.org/ and click on the video player; to view the stream, you will need either Microsoft Silverlight (downloadable link at http://orchestrarevolution.org available on June 16 at noon EDT) or Windows Media Player (version 9 or later). The session is an interactive town hall-style meeting debating the future of orchestras; Ben Cameron’s keynote address launches this year’s Conference theme, “It’s Time to Take on the Future.” Online participants can weigh in now to vote here on which of four questions they think should be discussed at the opening session. ArtsJournal.com founder/editor Doug McLennan will curate online participation at the site and at the Conference. For more information on the conference, click here. The blogsite and opening session are made possible by a generous grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
