The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra has announced that it will offer five free “WSO on the GO Yoga Series” classes in 2022, beginning on January 8 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral Ballroom in Wheeling, West Virginia. Classes will be held on the second Saturday of each month at 9 a.m., with each month featuring a different local yoga instructor paired with a WSO musician. The January event will feature yoga instructor Lindsay Schooler and WSO Principal Flute Barbara O’Brien. Additional classes will take place on February 12, March 12, April 9, and May 14, with participating musicians to include classical guitarist Tom Godfrey, Principal Viola Jennifer Mangone, marimba player Eliseo Rael, and Principal Second Violin Juan Jaramillo. “We had a very positive response to the two yoga events we held last fall,” said WSO Director of Institutional Advancement Betsy Delk. “We thought it would make sense to put together a series with a set date, time and location, so that yogis and music lovers can make plans to attend. We had no problem finding yoga instructors and musicians who were willing to participate.”
