The Reading (Pa.) Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of JOE TACKETT as executive director to succeed the retiring CHARLES WEISER, effective August 31. Tackett served most recently as executive director of Kentucky’s Lexington Ballet, prior to which he was director of education and librarian at the Lexington Philharmonic. Active as a string bass player, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and performed with the Reading Symphony during the 2000-01 season.
